Travel Day .. journey to Kenya
Travel day has officially begun!

Two of our team members were already in Kenya, while the remaining 10 arrived at Eppley Airfield bright and early Tuesday morning in their tie-dyed shirts, ready for the journey ahead. They also came with a mission before the day was over: hug 20 strangers. And while there may be some friendly debate, I think everyone knows Kelly won that challenge!
Our route included roughly a 2-hour flight to Chicago, an 8-hour flight to Frankfurt, and then another 8-hour flight to Nairobi. It was a long journey with a couple 3 hour layovers, but one filled with opportunities to learn, laugh, listen, and connect with people along the way.
We learned a few things during those many hours of travel:
1. Be a good representation of Christ as a group. Others are always watching how we carry ourselves matters.
2. There are not enough coffee shops in airports. We say this mostly in jest… mostly.
3. Support back home is essential. Knowing people are praying for us, encouraging us, and cheering us on makes a huge difference.
4. Airplane seats are humbling. Small, medium, large, any shape at all — eight hours in a sardine-can airplane seat with no air vent aimed directly at you is a thing to be reckoned with. But meeting incredibly random people and hearing their stories along the way makes it worth it.
Thankfully, all of our flights and the many international travel details went rather smoothly. There was a bit of a hiccup at customs in Nairobi, but with patience, teamwork, and God’s help, we were good to go.
After landing, we took a short bus ride with John and John to a room where we could clean up and get about three hours of rest. Then it was back on the bus as we began the next leg of the journey to Eldoret.
We are tired, grateful, and already seeing God at work in the smooth travel, in the people we are meeting, in the laughter shared along the way, and in the prayers carrying us from home.
Thank you for continuing to pray for our team
