Kenya Mission Team Update

Day T-1: The beginning of amazing

My journey to Kenya began earlier than expected. My daughter Melissa and I changed our flight plans because of connection issues. We ended up flying on the seventh and and got to Kenya 1 1/2 days earlier than the rest of our team. Melissa and I decided we would like to take a tour of a coffee estate as Africa is known for its coffee. We thought that would allow John and his crew to continue to do the things that they were going to do for the upcoming mission trip. They surprised us, however, and wanted to go with us so the six of us went on our way.

The tour was absolutely wonderful, but we were not prepared for the way our Lord showed up toward the end. As we were having our cookies and coffee under a beautiful trellis, our tour guide Raymond introduced us to the owner of the estate. The gentleman was very well spoken man named Michael Warui. As we began visiting with him he shared with us that he had graduated with a degree in business from the University of Pennsylvania. He said it was evident to him and speaking with us that we were Christian and let us know that he was a Christian minister. He also shared with us that he was an author and had written a book called Kingdom Economics. He shared with us some beautiful testimonies and after he finished three of us asked if we could buy this book. We asked him to sign our books and the amazing part was the profound messages that he gave each one of us.

Michael did not know John Langer, but he knew that God was using him in unbelievable ways, and he prayed over him in the way that the spirit was overwhelming all of us.

Little did I know this was to be just the beginning of an amazing God filled time in my life.
