Kenya Mission Team Update

4 Worship services , 30 Baptisms, and one faithful missionary

Sunday was one of those days that felt like three days packed into one. Early in the morning, our team split up and headed in different directions to preach and minister in four different churches across the area. There is always a little uncertainty when you divide a team and send everyone out, but God was already ahead of us. In every church, people were hungry for the Word, worship was full of joy, and God's presence was unmistakable.

Two especially beautiful moments came… one at Pastor Agnes's church, where a man came forward and surrendered his life to Jesus. There is no greater miracle than a changed heart, and watching someone take that step of faith was a powerful reminder of why we came. One at Community Bible Church in Eldoret when the team led Sunday school classes for K-5 and 5th-12th grades, they were hungry for the Word. By the time we all reunited later that afternoon, every person had stories to tell of lives touched, prayers answered, and the incredible faith of the Kenyan believers we had the privilege of serving alongside.

After such a powerful morning, you would think the day might begin winding down. Not even close. We returned to the hotel, and somehow the hotel pool became the setting for one of the most memorable moments of the trip. One by one, people stepped into the water to publicly declare their faith in Jesus through baptism. Before the afternoon was over, 39 people had been baptized by Pastor Jason and Bishop John Langer. There were cheers, tears, laughter, and plenty of splashing. It may have been the most joyful use of a hotel pool any of us have ever seen.

As the baptisms concluded, we gathered together to share communion. It was a beautiful celebration of new life in Christ, remembering His sacrifice, and giving thanks for all He has done. The significance of the moment was not lost on any of us.

As if that wasn’t incredible enough … we heard from T*S a missionary attached to Go and Grow Ministries that is reaching the least of these in some of the toughest settings you can even imagine.

We came to Kenya hoping to be a blessing, but once again we found ourselves being blessed beyond measure. It was a glorious day from beginning to end.
